Talisman is a group of singers dedicated to the sharing of stories through music. With a repertoire rooted in the musical traditions of the African diaspora, Talisman strives to reach across the many borders that fracture the cartography of today's world and sing the living spirit of human struggle and celebration. Over the years, we have performed at such venues as the Olympics, the White House, Carnegie Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl, and have toured the townships surrounding Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa. In March of 2008, the group traveled to South Africa again to renew its sound and spirit.
