tapTH@T, Stanford's only tap dancing group, was started in 2006 by Taylor Phillips, Sam Chiu, and Ashley Lohmann, focusing on performance for experienced tappers. Now, we've expanded to offer classes and workshops for beginners in addition to those performance opportunities we offer our advanced dancers. We strive for variety in style and movement, practicing everything from stylized show tap to Stomp style hoofin', improv, and new collaborations with other arts groups. tapTH@T especially emphasizes unique and precise rhythms: we tap to enhance our music with intricate beats, or to simply create our own music.
